IRON MAIDEN

The best concert in my life was IRON MAIDEN in 2009. I was 16 years old and I loved the band. Now, why is the important for me?... Simple I like the heavy metal and the rock music because is energetic, polemic and critic. Also was my first concert and I was go with my mom <3.

the concert was in the Equestrian Club of the Santiago and the public assistance was of 50.000 persons. The place was for all, kids, parents even grandparents! there was a familiar atmosphere and I was a happy. Also the people was friendly… I sometimes think about this moment and I would Like return the time to be there.

IRON MAIDEN is a heavy metal  band british, made for Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers and Nicko McBrain in 1975. In the present they have 40 years of trajectory  thousands of fans around the world.

I recommend going to a concert of them because they play well, the lyrics of the songs is deep and the quality of the vocalist is incredible.

The world is a mosaic of the countries, with  many differences as for example the culture, the landscape, the music, the architecture, the food... for this motive I would like travel  for the world, but in specific Istanbul city, because is very beautiful. 

Istanbul is a city located in Turkey between Asia And Europe, this places is country's economic, cultural, and historic center, and is considered a of the more beautiful cities of the world.

Between important monuments is it so the Hagia Sophia Church, the Sultanahmet Camii, the Galata Kulesi and the Mosaic Museum, also the history this place is very interesting, because the city is very old, for this motive Istanbul is considered a World Heritage.

For this reasons I would like visit Istanbul, because I like the history, in specific the Related to different empires, for example the bizantine and roman. 

But, the culture is very conservative, for this reason I don’t live in Istanbul, although here are united two continent.

POST 9: MY EXPERIENCE

In my experience with the blogs, I must say that was interesting, because I never used this platform, usually wrote in paper and the time  not  was limited. Nevertheless, I like because is entertaining. in a first moment I was think that not would able...but I can do it!... is fantastic because I feel that my redaction level rise in a short time and my vocabulary grow.

Nevertheless I feel that the limit time is a problem in the Architecture And Urbanism  Faculty, because the careers in this place demand a long time and I not time for written in the requested moment... this situation is a transversal problem for all students. I would prefer that the limit time for write no outside a requirement, because, for example I would write about more themes, during the week, I don`t like write in class I feel nervious and limited in my abilities.

For the other side,  I think that my redaction is better  than my way of talking, and the situation it saddens me :(  because I would like speak fluidly.

POST 7: David Harvey

In geography, there are several  social scientist... is very difficult  chosse one, but I prefer and admirate David Harvey.

This person is a geographer and social teoric, he was born in England in 1935 and studied in Cambridge and in  the present is a catedratic teacher in the City University of New York and London  School of Economics.

He contributed for the geographic discipline a diversity theories about the space and the relations that occur, for example he wrote about:

• ·         Radical geography
• ·         Theory of uneven geographical development
• ·         Justice, nature and the geography of difference
• ·         The new imperialism
• ·         Brief history of neoliberalism

Books that studies the social conflics since of geographic approach with critic vision, since relates  keys concepts such as the gentrification, the capitalism, the globalization, the economy and the poberty.

I like  Harvey because your thought is similar with me, I have a critic vision about the society and  with Harvey I feel identified. also the economy is important for your research and your form for writte is of easy understanding. for the other side, he always update your knowledge... he is a open mind man.

POST 2: My options

When I was a girl, was don`t have a clear option... because I don’t like study, but, I like to learn. I dreamed with architecture, anthropology, chemistry, engineer in chemistry, teacher of history, many options...never geography.

When I left of high school I was don`t know what to do, for this reason, mi first career was a failure and I gave up my career in the last year.

For to choose my second career I  was investigate different alternatives en careers and the universities because I was prefer anthropology...because the anthropology was my first option, but the PSU was insufficient, for this reason, I  enter to study geography... and this career was the best decision of my life!

Now my experience in geography is fantastic I like my career and I don't would change for nothing  the world.

the economic geography!! :)

I like geography in all areas, this career is complete because I can study the environment, the society, the history, the cities and I can travel around the world... I see all!! but, with a  diferent perspective, the spatial perpective.

But I like also other disciplines, as they are the economy, the history, the politics, the art... I really love studies, focused to the society, because my favorite subjet is the economic geography, even more than geopolitic, because the economic geography gives a critical vision about how does influence the neoliberalism and the globalization in the societies, in specially those that are exploited for  other, for the asimetric relations of power.

Well, you now ask yourself : why is funny?, simple, always I said that I like hater, but with arguments!... in special the current society. For example in the class, I study how the companies nationals and transnationals installed in a places, change the relations between the people and the environment with de neoliberal politics, other example are the economic models as the Von Thunen, the Cristaller theory (the central spaces), the territory, etc. but the best theme in the economic geography for me, is the clusters v/s enclaves, for this theme I need study all of the place, because this concepts are similars, but one generate a negative efect (enclaves), instead the other, promote a new economy, favoring all habitants.

VALPARAÍSO IN MY MIND

The photoghraps reflect the especific moment of a time and place, for this reason are subjetives, irreverents, romantics, uniques and eternals. Now, mi favorite picture in this moment portray the places in the citiy, forests, mountain, the social dynamics, culture...and the ridiculous situations, for example the "memes". 

But, now I will write about of a personal photography. This picture was captured in Valparaíso city in May for me during a visit for academic motives in the subjet of the Cultural Geography.

I like this picture because it was captured by me, in this photography, it can be seen as the process of gentrification and the economic interests destroy the city through of the vertical construction with the edifications in alture that do not respect the cultural arquitecture, the traditions and the social relations in the places, altering the landscape.

But, equally I see as the  people from Valparaíso, fight to keep it´s essence, for example painting murals, keeping the colors of their houses and the Bohemia.

I remenber  that a person  told me " Valparaíso is not beautiful , but is romantic" and I think, that person was right.
